UnitedHealthcare, WCCO-TV and the Minnesota Vikings Team up with Second Harvest Heartland to Help End Senior Hunger

Getting a warm and healthy meal is essential to one's health—but for 1 in 12 Minnesota seniors, it can be a struggle. Many seniors are on fixed incomes and are faced with making tough decisions between food and other necessities.

That's why we've teamed up with UnitedHealthcare, WCCO-TV and the Minnesota Vikings to help older Americans realize that there are programs that can help get them the nutritious foods they need or the resources to find them.

Watch the video below featuring Vikings Alumni Bob Lurtsema and Vikings kicker Blair Walsh to find out how seniors and their caregivers can connect with resources like food shelf locations and information, congregant dining, transportation options and more.

If you are senior who could use a little extra help or would like more information for a family member or loved one, visit 2harvest.org/seniorhelp to learn more about senior hunger and to find helpful local resources.

Thank you to our partners, for helping us raise awareness about the issues of senior hunger and connecting our hungry neighbors to the resources that will help them thrive.
