We LOVE Our Volunteers!
Anyone who has visited our newly refurbished Brooklyn Park facility knows that the space is as welcoming and comfortable as it is full of energy. In short, it’s a place our volunteers look forward to visiting. And we look forward to hosting them and celebrating many milestones there in the coming weeks, months and years.
We celebrated a big milestone in early October, when we hosted the first ever 150-person volunteer group for a packing session. The lively group was from North America’s Building Trades Unions. In town for their annual Tradeswomen Build Nations conference, the group took a break from their seminar to repack produce to be shipped to the food shelf partners and meal programs in our network for distribution. Once additional volunteer center packing rooms are complete, we will be able to host up to 200 volunteers at the same time to move even more healthy food to people who need it.
The group of tradeswomen were so excited to make an impact volunteering with us, they broke out in dance! Check out this video!
