Kimberly, a mom of three (ages 5, 9 and 11), has worked hard to raise her children in an environment that is safe for all of them. This led Kimberly to take her kids and flee an abusive relationship, taking nothing but the clothes on their backs.

Kimberly moved her family into her mom’s  house. But when Kimberly’s mom lost her job due to medical issues, she ran into the reality she needed more help making ends meet and supporting her children. She started visiting a food pantry, which has helped her family tremendously, she says.

“Even though there are still times when I skip meals because there isn't enough,” Kimberly said, “I'm glad I never have to worry about my children going hungry. There are better days ahead.”

Stories like Kimberly’s drive Second Harvest Heartland and our community partners, including Bremer Bank, to take action to end hunger. No child or parent should ever have to worry about not having enough food.

Bremer Bank’s 12th annual Meals for Many campaign seeks to raise awareness of hunger and funds for Second Harvest Heartland and other local Feeding America food banks. From June 12-24, Bremer Bank will match $1-for-$1 all donations to the Meals for Many campaign, up to $30,000!

Double your impact this month and help all our neighbors like Kimberly and her family.
