When the Weather Gets Tough, the Tough Get Volunteering

Rather than sit at home all day, the family decided they could volunteer together and do something good with their day off of school. They had just learned about Second Harvest Heartland from volunteering the previous weekend with their church group, and enjoyed the experience.
So as seasoned volunteers, they knew all about how to most effectively label and repack the food products. Along with a handful of other volunteers, they managed to repack more than 3,000 pounds of food during their morning shift.
What a great way for a family to spend their morning off of school!
