Brittany: It’s comforting to know there’s help
Brittany, a single mother of two children under two years old, has been staying at the Catholic Charities Family Service Center since the end of June after an injury left her unable to work.
She hopes to have a place of her own before the holidays.
“My hope is that I can provide some sort of stability for my kids over the holidays. That’s really important to me,” said Brittany. “But the hardest time of the year is from Thanksgiving to New Year’s—you’re expected to do so much with so little. Meals at home are expensive, and I want to get my kids at least a few gifts. It’s comforting to know there’s help.”
