W. W. Cargill Day at Second Harvest Heartland
“150 years of helping the world thrive” is Cargill’s tagline for their 150th anniversary. To celebrate, Second Harvest Heartland brought its founder, W.W. Cargill, along for a day to see what hunger relief looks like for Minnesota’s largest food bank.
The day started with our CEO – Rob Zeaske, at Second Harvest Heartland’s Maplewood headquarters.
W.W. Cargill then visited Kowalski’s in Woodbury, a Retail Food Rescue partner.
W.W. Cargill's next stop was Second Harvest Heartland’s production facility in Golden Valley. This is where the volunteer and food packing magic happens!
For his last stop, W.W. Cargill visited Valley Outreach in Stillwater, one of more than 1,000 food shelves, pantries and other partner programs that Second Harvest Heartland supports across Minnesota and western Wisconsin. Our agency partners were responsible for distributing more than 74 million meals directly into the hands of families, children and seniors throughout our 59-county service area.
Happy 150th anniversary, Cargill! Thank you for your support and all that you’ve done to help end hunger in our community!
