Fun and Easy Ways to Fight Hunger this Fall
Help us fight hunger this fall by giving back! Whether that means rounding-up to the nearest dollar at Cub or preparing your furnace for the winter ahead, every little bit helps!
Below are just some of the ways you can help fight hunger this fall.
Cub Cares - October 18-31
Cub Foods and Gopher Athletics have teamed up again this year for Cub Cares, benefiting Second Harvest Heartland and Minnesota’s Feeding America food banks. From Sunday, October 18 to Saturday, October 31, customers will be asked to round up their purchase at the checkout register as a donation to help fight hunger in our community. Look for the Round Up sign featuring Goldy Gopher and Round Up during Cub Cares! For more information, visit cub.com.
Host a Holiday Food & Fund Drive
If you’re like most families in the heartland, you’ll sit down this holiday season and enjoy a feast surrounded by loved ones. But the unfortunate reality is that thousands of Minnesota families will rely on their local food shelf for a simple holiday meal. With your help, we can make the holidays a little brighter for families in need. Please consider hosting a Food & Fund Drive this fall, and share what you can to help us keep our neighbors hunger-free this holiday season. For more information or to register, visit 2harvest.org/drive.
Uptown Plumbing, Heating & Cooling
Uptown Plumbing, Heating & Cooling will provide a precision furnace tune-up and safety check to homeowners who make a $49 donation to Second Harvest Heartland (a $210 value). Visit 2harvest.org/uptown for more details and to make a donation.
Walk to End Hunger – November 26
Give back before giving thanks this Thanksgiving! Take part in the Walk to End Hunger, a family-friendly 5k walk benefitting Second Harvest Heartland and other hunger-relief organizations. Join Team Second Harvest Heartland, start your own team, or make a donation. For more details, visit walktoendhunger.org.
