There’s a Role for Each of Us

Thank you for joining the Second Harvest Heartland team, a coalition of advocates, volunteers, donors, food shelves, and hunger-relief programs working together to end hunger.

Together, we are working to ensure our neighbors have the food they need to thrive. In 59 counties across Minnesota and Western Wisconsin, we work with 373 food shelf & nonprofit partners, and more than 647 hunger-relief programs to increase neighbors’ daily access to food. We also advocate for policies that prevent hunger in the long term.

How Will You Get Involved?

Your own meaningful action makes you an important part of this movement. Whether you’re volunteering at a food shelf or our Volunteer Center, using your voice to encourage your elected officials to support anti-hunger legislation, or making a donation, there are many ways to get involved, and each is vital and impactful!

Advocate

Add your name to our list of anti-hunger advocates and we’ll keep you in the loop on key hunger relief priorities, invite you to educational trainings, offer volunteer opportunities, and ask you to mobilize around timely issues. Our voices are louder tog

Volunteer

So much of our food bank operations rely on the time, talents and generosity of volunteers. From food sorting and packing to other skill-based projects, volunteers serve side-by-side with our employees as we work together to end hunger.

DONATE

Your generous donation helps source and distribute nutritious food, launch innovative hunger-relief programs, advocate for sound policies, and connect our neighbors facing hunger to the full resources of the community.
