The Legislative Session is Over. It’s a Mixed Bag!
The legislative session concluded with legislators approving an additional $12 million in one-time funding for hunger relief. This is good news for Minnesotans facing food insecurity, especially following drastic cuts to local food programs at both the state and federal levels. While this funding will help food banks and food shelves deliver millions of pounds of nutritious food to neighbors facing hunger throughout the state, more funding is still needed to serve them during this time of historic need. Contact your state lawmakers and thank them for supporting this funding—while encouraging them to build on it in the months and years ahead.
