Tell Us Your Food Assistance Story
More of us than ever are facing food insecurity, which means 1 in 8 of us are having a hard time stretching our budgets to cover the cost of groceries. But as you hopefully know and have experienced, there are many resources – fresh food and financial assistance – that can help fill your fridge and pantry. You also probably how hard it can be to receive help when you need it. We want to make it easier for more people to receive food assistance, and your story can help us.
When you hear the stories of other people visiting a food shelf for the first time, applying for SNAP, driving through a food box distribution, you can better understand what that experience is like, and you can see yourself trying it, too.
We’re hoping to hear about the stories and experiences of those who have received food assistance, so that we can share them on our website, on social media, through print materials, and more, and help encourage others to find food help in their community. Will you share your experience with us? Please complete the form below. And thank you!
Second Harvest Heartland will contact you once we receive your story to discuss how we might like to share it with other audiences, like on our blog or on social media. We will also ask for you to provide us permission to do so. We will not use this information you have provided without your explicit consent. Therefore, please provide accurate contact information. If you indicated that you would not like to be contacted, your information will not be shared publicly.
Why are we asking for this information? Hearing the stories of receiving food assistance helps others seek out the help they need. We can take your experience and share it with others so they know they aren’t alone in seeking help.
With whom may we share information? We might share portions or all of the information you provided on our blog or social media channels, but we will not share any identifiable information without your explicit consent.
