Hunger Doesn't Discriminate

The mission of Twin Cities Pride is to bring the greater LGBTQ community together to commemorate its diverse heritage, foster inclusion, educate and create awareness of issues, and celebrate achievements in equality.

In this spirit, Second Harvest Heartland is designating three shifts on Saturday, September 10, 2016 specially for LGBTQ volunteers, families and friends. In a fun and engaging environment, volunteers will repackage bulk foods, such as pasta or cereal, into consumer-sized packages; sort and salvage damaged products or food items; sort food from food drives and donations; or label cans. These items go to nearly 1,000 local partner agencies, including food shelves and other programs that serve our hungry neighbors. These positions are located in either Maplewood or Golden Valley, and require that you’re able to stand for several hours.
