Ongoing Volunteer Opportunities
We appreciate your interest in volunteering on a short-term or long-term volunteer project with Second Harvest Heartland! These types of volunteer opportunities usually require a minimum of 3, 6, or 12 month commitment and may involve a variety of projects, such as client interaction, data entry, phone calling, or pro bono consulting.
If you are interested in any of the volunteer opportunities listed below, please complete our volunteer interest form and a member of the Volunteer Engagement team will connect with you!
This volunteer provides excellent customer service to our seniors and works alongside other volunteers to ensure the distribution runs smoothly. This volunteer can assist in distribution setup, recertification of participants, and help participants carry their box and/or loading them into their vehicles. Site Volunteers need to be comfortable with face-to-face interaction, working with participants who may speak a different language, and comfortable working with confidential information. This is a once-a-month position for 1.5-3 hours per shift. This role can be physical, fast-paced, and is a wonderful and direct way to help seniors at risk of hunger!
