Volunteer
We Depend on You
Last year, volunteers from school and church groups, corporations, group homes, civic and youth organizations and more, took time to help us with over 132,000 hours of volunteer time. Without this tremendous contribution, our hungry neighbors would not receive the food they need.

Volunteer Spotlight
For Pam, she has a bit of a smorgasbord of volunteer roles. She gives time going to different events and speaking on behalf of Second Harvest Heartland, helping with setting up our new interns and working on Dish, our largest event of the year. As to what drew her to Second Harvest Heartland in the first place, hunger is something Pam’s always thought about.
“It’s such a basic need,” Pam said. “With kids obviously, they need food to be productive at school. There are a lot of elderly people who don’t get food. Families even, for whatever reason, don’t have the financial means for the right amount of food.”
