Scott Portnoy retired from Cargill in December 2015 after 38 ½ years of service. From 2007 until 2015 he served as a Corporate Vice President focusing on Cargill's Food Ingredient and Systems business units globally. He also was a 9-year member and President of the Cargill Foundation which invests in organizations that demonstrate leadership and effectiveness in educating socio-economically disadvantaged children and eliminating barriers to their education.
He currently serves as a board member of Lipman Family Companies, a privately held vertically integrated produce business that takes tomatoes and other vegetables from seed to fork.
Scott is an active member of the Gopher Angels network which is a network of accredited investors seeking to invest capital and expertise in early stage Minnesota businesses.
Portnoy holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Foreign Service from Georgetown University, Washington, D.C. He also holds a Master’s Degree in Public Affairs from the Hubert H. Humphrey School for Public Affairs at the University of Minnesota.
