Minneapolis Public Schools — Chief Financial Officer
Ibrahima Diop is the Chief Financial Officer for the Minneapolis Public Schools District where he leads Finance, Accounting, Budget, Procurement, Payroll, Grants, Risk Management, and Total Compensation.
Prior to joining the Minneapolis Public Schools, Diop was with the Omaha Public Schools District where he worked as Manager of Accounting and Finance, and Director of Finance, Accounting, Budget, and Compensation and Benefits. While at the Omaha Public Schools, Diop wrote a white paper on Priority Based Budgeting which, in 2015 became the budgeting model of the district.
He has a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in Business Finance, Banking, and Financial Markets from the University of Nebraska at Omaha and a Master of Arts in International Economics from Creighton University where he received a Fellowship in International Economic Development. He is currently a Ph.D. Candidate in Organizational Leadership, Policy, and Development at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities.
Diop is married and the father of four children. He is a member of the Board of Trustees of Masjid An-Nur in Minneapolis and a Board Member at the Minnesota School District Liquid Asset Fund Plus (MSDLAF+).
