Lee visits Second Harvest Heartland’s Maplewood location once a month to pick up her Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP) box. Through CSFP, Second Harvest Heartland provides a box of nutritious food each month to low-income seniors through the Nutrition Assistance Program for Seniors (NAPS) program.

Van Keszler has been a monthly donor to Second Harvest Heartland for nine years now, and recently added Second Harvest Heartland to his will. He is a chef and teacher and says that the commitment to giving back was something instilled in him by his parents.

By day, Warren volunteers in the kitchen of the Dorothy Day Center in St. Paul, an agency partner that Second Harvest Heartland supports. Warren enjoys giving back to the Dorothy Day Center, since it’s helped him so much in the months he’s been relying on its services—especially the free meals he eats there at least two times a day.
