individual volunteer opportunities
Homebound deliveries: Deliver a monthly supplemental box to low-income senior(s) who are unable to get out. This is a once per month delivery. You set the date and time with the recipient(s), and you make a huge difference in an individual's life!
Administrative help: We need ongoing help for light administrative duties, including filing, mailings or data entry.
Supplemental Nutrition Program has weekday opportunities to help with our distribution. Volunteers bag bread and/or produce for distribution to our clients. Times are either 9 am-12 pm or 1 pm-4 pm Monday – Friday.
Most of our volunteer opportunities occur on weekdays between the hours of 9 am-4 pm. We do have occasional Tuesday and Thursday evening shifts from 5-7 pm for groups and individuals at our Maplewood site, plus occasional group opportunities on Wednesday evenings at our Minneapolis location.
Don't hesitate to get in touch with us to explore options!

*Our policy requires that youth ages 14-18 must be accompanied by one adult age 21 or older in a minimum ratio of 1 adult to 6 youth. Volunteer requests for age 13 and under must be addressed on a case-by-case basis. In the warm weather months, volunteers must wear close-toed shoes. These requirements reflect safety concerns at our Second Harvest Heartland locations.
