Host a Food & Fund Drive
Food & Fund Drives have served as a staple for collecting donations for food banks like Second Harvest Heartland for decades. However, traditional food drives are changing as food shelves and partners continue to seek out fresh, more nutritious food for their clients.
That’s where Second Harvest Heartland’s Virtual Food Drive tool comes in.
When you host a Virtual Food Drive for Second Harvest Heartland, you are transforming $1 into 3 meals for hungry children, seniors, and adults in our community. Better yet, your Virtual Drive will help put fresh foods including produce, dairy and meat, on the tables of those who need it most. The impact is astounding!
Our Food & Fund drive program is changing to help support a more sustainable support system for our hungry neighbors. Learn more about how you can make the biggest impact, through your drive with this short video.
Every dollar and every pound of food count, so whether you choose to host a Virtual Food & Fund Drive or want to go the more traditional route, your drive will help us feed our hungry neighbors in need.

Food & Fund Drive Featured Partner - Kemps
A big thank you goes out to Kemps and its employees for hosting a virtual online drive to benefit Second Harvest Heartland. The Kemps executive team led the June fundraising competition. Kemps corporate office employees were divided into teams, and each of the six executives worked to raise money with their team. The executive leading the team with the lowest amount of donations at the conclusion of the effort agreed to have a pie thrown at them at a June 13 office BBQ.
“We are pleased to support the efforts of Second Harvest Heartland. Our family of employees is committed to nourishing families in our local communities,” said Greg Kurr, President and CEO. “We are grateful for the generosity of our employees in this fund drive. It truly is a team of folks that care.”
Donations raised during the 2-week fundraiser will help Second Harvest Heartland distribute over 35,000 meals to our hungry neighbors! Thank you Kemps for your commitment in helping us end hunger.
