Canstruction®, a national charity committed to ending hunger, is using one can as a catalyst for change. This unique design/build competition, presented by Society of Design Administration, American Institute of Architects and Mall of America, will bring together Twin Cities architects, engineers, designers and students to showcase colossal sculptures built from thousands of ordinary cans of food.
These astounding structures are helping to change our communities – by lifting the spirits of those in need, by raising public awareness, and most importantly, by collecting thousands of pounds of food, all of which will be donated to Second Harvest Heartland when the event is complete.
Visit the Rotunda at Mall of America on Saturday, September 16 and watch the sculptures take shape throughout the day. Guest can vote for their favorite sculpture, with awards presented on Sunday, September 17 at 3:00 pm. Designs will be on display through Monday, September 18.
