Each month we feature an individual volunteer or group in a Volunteer Spotlight of the Month.  In honor of Volunteer Appreciation Week, we’re expanding our monthly spotlight to highlight additional volunteers that go above and beyond in supporting Second Harvest Heartland.

Today’s feature volunteer is Agency Relations Intern, Beth Maldonado.

Beth is working with the Agency Relations department to revamp the monthly orientations the team provides to small groups of agency partners – food shelves, meal programs, shelters and others that Second Harvest Heartland partners with to distribute food.

“I just got accepted to graduate school, so now I’m taking the things that I’ve learned at Second Harvest Heartland to apply them to my education. This internship helped me see the inner workings of a program and how big the impact is.”

After graduate school, Elizabeth would like to open a reentry program to help people return to the community after incarceration.

We’re grateful for the incredible contributions Beth has made!
