Take Action Against Hunger this September
Hunger Action Month, a campaign during September provides individuals across the country and right here in Minnesota the opportunity to take action against hunger.
Hunger is widespread in our community with one in 10 people in Minnesota and western Wisconsin at risk of hunger. You can help by joining us to raise awareness around the issue of hunger in one of three ways:
- Volunteer for the Double Down Challenge and every hour will be matched with a $5 donation from Bremer Bank, up to $50,000.
- Donate and your gift made in September will be matched by UnitedHealthcare up to $50,000. With the match, $1 provides six meals!
- Create awareness by going orange throughout the month and specifically on Hunger Action Day which is Thursday, Sept. 8. There are several events to attend and other ways you can create awareness listed on our Hunger Action Month page.
Thanks to our partners, Bremer Bank and UnitedHealthcare for their support in helping us maximize the impact during this year’s Hunger Action Month.
“The generosity of our partners allows individual donors’ contributions to go further and serve more people in our communities,” said Rob Zeaske, chief executive officer. “By maximizing their contributions, community members can help Second Harvest Heartland provide support and increase access to food for the people we’re serving.”
