Kowalski’s Provides One Million Meals to Our Neighbors in Need

More than 300 retail grocery stores contribute less-than-perfect but still perfectly edible and nutritious produce, meat, bakery, dairy and deli items to Second Harvest Heartland. These organizations are the foundation of our Retail Food Rescue Program—both our fastest growing program and our second largest source of food.

Partners like Kowalski’s have stepped up to ensure this fresh, healthy food is saved and safely delivered to our partner agencies and then to the dinner tables of our neighbors in need. In fact, Kowalski’s just surpassed its one million meals donated mark, and we couldn’t be more grateful of their support.

Kowalski’s is a pioneer in food recovery—becoming the first retailer to join the Food Rescue Program. And as the need for fresh, nutritious food grows, Kowalski’s contributions are now more important than ever.

Sincere thanks to Kowalski’s for their support of our hunger-relief efforts, and helping provide meals for so many of our neighbors who are hungry.
