More than 328,500 Minnesota students rely on free or reduced-price lunches during the school year, but when summer arrives, only 15 percent of these kids access a Summer Food Service Program. kstp lunch bag photo

That’s why Second Harvest Heartland is joining forces with KSTP 5 Eyewitness News and other local partners today to help raise $100,000 to fight child hunger during the summer months.

A $25 donation will buy more than 92 lunches—feeding a child lunch for the entire summer.

There will also be multiple opportunities to double donation amounts. Partners such as Cargill, Allina Health, BMO Harris Bank and Tennant have made matching contributions to make your dollars go twice as far.

Tune in to KSTP today to help fill the summer meal gap for local kids in need or click here to donate now!
