Local businesses are stepping up in big ways this spring with promotional opportunities that give you a chance to make a difference right in your own neighborhood. Below are a few of the many campaigns that are working to raise funds for Second Harvest Heartland and our hunger-relief efforts. Consider participating in one of these, or start your own campaign to help our hungry neighbors in need.

Minnesota FoodShare March Campaign – All of March

The Minnesota FoodShare March Campaign brings together hundreds of companies, civic groups, schools and congregations to help keep 300 food shelves statewide stocked throughout the year. Participate in the month-long Food & Fund Drive here.

Uptown Plumbing, Heating and Cooling Furnace Tune-Ups - Ongoing

Metro homeowners who make a $69 donation to Second Harvest Heartland will receive a precision furnace tune-up and safety check for free (valued at $210). To make your donation and schedule a tune-up contact Uptown at 612.827.4674 or www.calluptown.com.

Refit Life Weight Loss Challenge – April 4-May 30

Sign up on Facebook at “The Refit Life 8 Week Weight Loss Challenge” or email admin@refit-life.com.

Get in Gear – April 25

The Get in Gear race, along beautiful Minnehaha Park, is Minnesota’s annual rite of spring. Since 2006, the Get in Gear race has raised $120,500 to support Second Harvest Heartland. Make a matched donation on behalf of the Second Harvest Heartland race team or sign up for a 5k, 10k, or half-marathon, and make a difference in the lives of our hungry neighbors!
