Every segment of our community is part of a circle. The circle is formed by friends, neighbors and strangers and provides a strong foundation for growth. When the circle is completed, the working poor are able to feed their families. Children grow and learn and become friends and neighbors. And sometimes they become the strangers who reach out with their hearts to the next generation.

Through two locations, Second Harvest Heartland directly supports 1,000+ non-profit agency programs that provide food and support for the ill, the needy, seniors and children in the following 59 counties:
Minnesota counties: Anoka, Benton, Big Stone, Blue Earth, Brown, Carver, Chippewa, Chisago, Cottonwood, Dakota, Hennepin, Isanti, Jackson, Kandiyohi, Lac Qui Parle, Le Sueur, Lincoln, Lyon, Martin, McLeod, Meeker, Morrison, Murray, Nicollet, Nobles, Pine, Pipestone, Ramsey, Redwood, Renville, Rock, Scott, Sherburne, Sibley, Stearns, Swift, Todd, Washington, Watonwan, Wright and Yellow Medicine.
Wisconsin counties: Barron, Buffalo, Burnett, Chippewa, Clark, Dunn, Eau Claire, Jackson, Pepin, Pierce, Polk, Price, Rusk, Sawyer, St. Croix, Taylor, Trempealeau and Washburn.
Our agencies go beyond distributing grocery products. Several specifically serve children, providing hot food and warm safe shelter after school. They also provide life skills education for homeless youth, shelter for battered women, support for senior citizens, mental health and chemical dependency counseling and residential treatment programs for troubled youth.
