After-School Snack Program
The Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) helps member agencies provide nutritious snacks as part of after-school children’s programs. Federally funded and administered by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), CACFP provides member agencies with a reimbursement of up to $.64 per snack. Participating after-school programs must be located within the boundaries of eligible low-income elementary school attendance areas. Programs will be reimbursed for one snack per day per student. Typical snack menus include two components from the four food groups, such as cereal and milk or juice and granola bars. More Information »
CACFP Inventory
Second Harvest Heartland stocks CACFP-approved snacks. Member agencies whose after-school program receives CACFP snack reimbursement from the state of Minnesota may order CACFP snacks from our inventory.
